Windows 7 e dvd/cd-roms not working

when i try to play or burn to a disc nothing happened,so i right clicked on my computer,properies,then device manager,theres a yellow symbol under my dvd/cd rom drives,when i right click on any of them and open properties it comes up, Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) iv tried a few tools but cant seem to get them working,can anyone please help me?
 

Hi

Try uninstalling the drives in Device Manager, then reboot and let Windows redetect them and reinstall them and see if that works.

If you have a restore point when they were working try that.

If that doesn't work here's some info at Microsoft...

Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Solution
...some older drives aren't compatible as i found out the hard way. Windows 7 has a large database of good drivers, though.
