Hello, i have been few years annoyed of windows way to always activate the windows menu of photoshop when you click alt and some letter. For example "Alt + W" opens "windows"-menu. It is annoying because it happens every time by accident and you can't continue using the program before you're fixed the menu . These ALT related shortcuts also creates random "beeb" noises. And i think actually spacebar has also something to do with this problem. Sometimes it does the whole program not possible to use before i have activated some other window and then activate photoshop again. Thats so annoying.
So i want to remove all the unnecessary windows shortcuts. Where can i do it?

Solution
To prevent Windows-specific keyboard shortcuts like Alt+W from interfering with your work in Photoshop, especially if they trigger unintended actions or menu selections, you can customize these settings to suit your preferences or disable them altogether. Here's a guide on how to manage and possibly disable system-wide keyboard shortcuts on Windows:

Method 1: Using AutoHotkey

  1. Download AutoHotkey: AutoHotkey is a free, open-source scripting language for Windows that allows you to create macros and automate various tasks.
  2. Create a Script: Follow these steps to create a script that disables certain key combinations:
    • Create a new text file on your desktop.

  1. Download AutoHotkey: AutoHotkey is a free, open-source scripting language for Windows that allows you to create macros and automate various tasks.
  2. Create a Script: Follow these steps to create a script that disables certain key combinations:
    • Create a new text file on your desktop.
    • Rename the file with the extension .ahk.
    • Edit the file and add the following lines to disable the Alt+W combination:
      Code:
       !w:: return
This script tells AutoHotkey to do nothing when Alt+W is pressed.
[]Run the Script: Double-click the script file you created. This will run in the background and disable the Alt+W shortcut system-wide.

    Method 2: Windows Registry

    [
    ]Open Registry Editor:
    • Press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.
    []Navigate to the Key:
    • Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
    [
    ]Create a New DWORD Value:
    • Right-click on the right pane, select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
    • Name it NoWinKeys and set its value to 1.
  3. Restart your PC:
    • Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

      Note:

      • Modifying the Windows Registry can affect your system settings, so be cautious and back up your data before making changes.
      • AutoHotkey scripts allow for more flexibility and customization compared to Windows Registry edits.
      • You can customize the script further to disable other key combinations or modify existing shortcuts.
By following these steps, you can potentially disable the specific Windows shortcuts that interfere with your workflow in Photoshop. Adjusting these settings can help prevent accidental keystrokes from triggering undesired actions within applications.
