Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 10 will officially end on October 14, 2025. To assist users during this transition, the company is offering Extended Security Updates (ESU) for an additional year, until October 13, 2026. Users can enroll in the ESU program through three options:
- Windows Backup Enrollment: By enabling Windows Backup and syncing PC settings to OneDrive, users can receive the ESU for free. This requires signing in with a Microsoft account and may necessitate additional OneDrive storage if the backup exceeds the free 5 GB limit.
- Microsoft Rewards Points: Users can redeem 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points to enroll in the ESU program.
- Direct Purchase: A one-time payment of $30 grants access to the ESU for one year.
