Windows 7 How to restore files on widows 7

Hey guys,

I previously had Microsoft Vista Home Premium on my laptop. I used the system backup to save all of my documents and settings. I have them on my external hard drive. I then downloaded Windows 7. Now I need to get all these files restored on Windows 7. How do I go about doing this?? I couldn't find any simple way to do it. Let me know if there is one. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean you used Windows Backup to create a system image , or backup your files?

Or do you mean you used Windows Easy transfer?
