How do I turn off updates and the automatic shutting down of my computer? This feature is REALLY pissing me off, when I'm playing a game my computer shuts down, I don't know how much in game money I've lost because of this BS. Please help.

Press [windows key] + [x] then press [t] for the task manager... from there you can stop the update service until your game is finished. I know that so retarded but Microsoft hasn't allowed any other way to disable it.
An image from 'How to turn off updates?'. The image shows Windows Task Manager's Services tab with 'wuauserv' (Windows Update) service highlighted and stopped.

p.s. pick 'disable' as that will stop any other service from auto turning it back on again... just restart it when you want updates again,
