I have Ultimate 64 set up on a Gigabyte UD3P, Intel ICH10R, Raid 0 (2 HDD's). I'm not able to install Intel Matrix Storage Console. From another post, I read that Win7 installs newer raid drivers than what's on my Gigabyte install disk (and the Intel website). The Intel raid drivers were installed on initial setup; when I tried to install the Matrix console off my Gigabyte install disk, the app locked up.....Otherwise the OS has run flawlessly for 2 weeks now-really impressed with performance of 7.

Has anybody managed to Install the Matrix Console on their machine?

It seems like you are experiencing difficulties installing the Intel Matrix Storage Console on your Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system set up on a Gigabyte UD3P motherboard with Intel ICH10R chipset using RAID 0 with 2 HDDs. Here are a few steps and suggestions you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Latest Intel Matrix Storage Console: It's advisable to download the latest version of the Intel Matrix Storage Console directly from the Intel website rather than using the Gigabyte install disk. This would ensure that you have the most up-to-date software compatible with your system. 2. Compatibility: Ensure that the version of the Intel Matrix Storage Console you are installing is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. Older versions might not be fully compatible with newer operating systems. 3. Driver Update: Since you mentioned that Windows 7 installed newer RAID drivers during setup, it's essential to check if these drivers might conflict with the Intel Matrix Storage Console. You can try updating the RAID drivers to the latest version available. 4. Compatibility Mode: Try installing the Intel Matrix Storage Console in compatibility mode. Right-click on the setup file, go to Properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab. From there, you can choose to run the installer in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows. 5. Check Event Viewer: If the app is locking up, check the Event Viewer (Start > Run > eventvwr.msc) for any relevant error messages that might shed light on why the installation is failing. 6. Driver Rollback: If updating the RAID drivers does not help, consider rolling back to the drivers that were installed during the initial setup to see if that allows you to install the Matrix Console without issues. 7. Community Forums: You might find more specific help by searching through community forums or support pages dedicated to Gigabyte motherboards, Intel RAID setup, or Windows 7 compatibility with the Intel Matrix Storage Console. Other users might have encountered similar issues and found solutions. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot the installation issue of the Intel Matrix Storage Console on your Windows 7 system effectively. If you encounter any specific error messages or issues during the process, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
