Windows 10 Internet Explorer is extremely slow

I'm using Windows 10 latest updates and internet exp. version 11. (exact vestons see screen shots)
About 6-8 weeks, internet explorer has become so slow, and hangs up, so often I literally can not use it.
simple tasks such as hitting www.google.com, IE will just hang taking 45-50 seconds (firefox will pop right up
please do not tell me "just use firefox, or chrome, that you switched years ago, the point is...this should
work properly...there is an issue here I'd like to fix...I too prefer firefox btw)/
Sometimes typing in a web address, it never appears. (see hang1.jpg). A lot of times when this occurs
I have to reboot, or go into task manager and end task on all IE instances.

I have not made any changes apps, software or hardware wise other than keep up with the latest updates weekly.

Below are screen shots (links to already attached files) of several settings etc. that may be relevant.
let me know if I can provide any other OS or IE information.

Please advise!

it could be windows attempting to force edge. I had it disabled for months, then a few weeks ago, I re-enabled it thinking by it being turned off, this was causing the slowness. My issue begin well after I disabled edge, turning it back on did not help. I found and ran CCLeaner...very thoroughly. I also ran my scripts I made (renamed the bat to txt for uploading here)

http://www.aanning.com/ajissues/Windows_errors/ie_slow/CLEAR_CACHE.txt

and

http://www.aanning.com/ajissues/Windows_errors/ie_slow/STOP_SERVICES.txt

The issue still exists after reboot.

The below link is what I used to disable EDGE, back in July. I used the download tool, it said to be sure, once done,,,I could never get it back.

How to Remove Microsoft Edge from Windows 10

After I started experiencing IE slowness, in November, I re-enabled edge, by doing the below.

How To Reinstall Microsoft Edge In Windows 10

Edge begin working as it did before. Because my issue begin months after disabling edge, and re-enabling did not resolve it, I do not think it is related, but thought I should mention this

I tried Chrome, Firefox, Opera and they are too slow to load. Edge is fast on my desktop computer however I am using Vivaldi.

I'm sorry, EDGE is utter junk....you are the first of many I've not heard say the same thing. I'm a software developer, I have to used IE, thats what the end users are on....I see a corporate movement towards firefox...where I am, not sure bout anywhere else. But its not there yet. Personally, I develop in Firefox or Chrome, these are so fast I can't see a 4th browser being any better,,,not noticeably.
Regardless.....3 things 1) I don't want to get into a which browser is better debate, 2) I'm stuck working with IE, the end users are 100% on it 3) above and beyond all this, theres an issue going on here that needs correcting. Sure IE maybe slower....but, not 100 times slower there is an issue, and it should be corrected ....just because.

update, I've reset ID, run sfc, disabled addons (see ieaddons1.jpg, ieaddons2.jpg and ieaddons3.jpg), I've tried a couple of restore points.
Now, I do not claim to be and event view expert. I know its there and can a little more than stumble through it. I have a couple of custom filtered reports or views. Below are a couple of red events that don't mean much to me in attached EV1.txt. I copied and pasted, I'm not aware of a better way to report out of this tool.

http://www.aanning.com/ajissues/Windows_errors/ie_slow/EV1.txt

are there any tips n tricks in event view to set up better custom reporting, and reporting and exporting?

I've exported selected event viewer events to the attached file "selectedEvents.txt" it will not allow uploads of extension .evtx
Therefore the selectedEvents.txt would need renaming to selectedEvents.evtx to read in event viewer.

Hi,
you could try running DISM:

File scans
Right click on the Start menu icon and from the revealed list choose 'admin command prompt'. Type:
sfc /scannow
press enter and await results

In the same command prompt and after the above scan has finished type:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
Press enter and await results (longer this time).

If the first scan found files it could not repair but the second scan is successful, run the first scan again using the same command prompt box and this time it should repair the files found.

You could also try disabling ie11 via the 'add windows features' section under Programs in the control panel and then re-enabling it?

I did the scannow and DISM...it showed no results and had no effects, see attached.file "DISM_results.txt"

One thing I can tell you from a repair standpoint I've discovered over the years, and that is when a computer's IE doesn't work right (IE6-->IE11); then there's usually serious windows corruption, registry corruption, or damage due to a virus that's lurking in your system or from removing a virus from your system improperly.

Nowhere in your posts in this addressed, or so you say, by attempting to perform virus scan and removal. We normally suggest that you first use whatever built-in AV program you are currently running on the computer in question. Scan/remove all viruses found. Next, visit malwarebytes.org and download the best free antispyware program MALWAREBYTES, and scan/remove all found spyware viruses. Reboot the computer and re-test your IE11. If it suddenly begins to work; the source of your problem was a virus and your now good to go! You should know that with spyware viruses, they most commonly do these 3 things:
1.) Attack windows system files that remove mobile devices (laptops/tablets/smartphones) from using the Internet.:pirate:
2.) Attack Wi-Fi drivers or wired Ethernet drivers on your PC or mobile device which keeps you from using the Internet.:pirate:
3.) Attack IE11 or actually ALL versions of IE going back to IE6. This typically causes IExx any version from working on the Internet, and or breaks IE functionality such as Home Page Hijacking occurrence.:pirate:

You may think that of course you checked for viruses on your computer? But, how thoroughly did you really check? Did you remember to check for Rootkits and Bootkits, commonly used by spyware viruses to inject Ransomware viruses into your computer into various system partitions? On some W10 computers, there can be as many as 11 hidden system partitions where these viruses can hide. Did you check all of them?
If not, you should use tools such as Norton SafeScan online scanner or TrendMicro RootKitBuster available at trendmicro.com

If you do a more thorough check and still don't fix your IE11, most likely the virus(s) are too entrenched or did too much damage to repair it manually or using software tools. You'll have to use more Advanced repair methods such as Windows Reset or complete Windows Reinstallation from Factory Recovery Media after a complete drive erasure. [MAKE SURE TO BACKUP ALL YOUR PERSONAL DATA FILES TO EXTERNAL MEDIA, AS MORE AGGRESSIVE SOFTWARE REPAIRS CAN OFTEN LEAD TO IRRETRIEVABLE DATA LOSS!!!]

Bottom line: If you can't repair your IE11 by any of the above methods, you'll have to reset or reinstall W10 completely to fix it, assuming that your hardware has been tested (RAM sticks and Hard Drive) as Ok. My Troubleshooting Guide will provide you with Hardware Testing steps if you wind up getting this far to fix your problem. Guide is here: Windows 10 - Unclickable Task Bar

Best of luck,:eagerness:

You know....maybe for the avg bear.....antivirous.....NOT me. I've been a software/database developer since 1984, I currently have 25+ computers etc, running 24/7 at my house. I have never not once, used an antivirus......also, I have never had a virus. NORTON ?? REally, that old resource hog...no thanks. Decades and countless PC, and never had a virus, ...simply put, I don't even want to discuss "virus" Before you say "well you may have one now".....do that stats on it, what are the odds?. Ok, lets move on to another resolution,,,,,I do not have a virus.

Running 25 computers at home? High electric bills.... Any computer connected to the internet without any antivirus software will be infected in 23 minutes. I use Kaspersky Internet Security and it has min impact on memory and resources. Norton is still terrible.

23 minutes huh ?.....its been WELL over a decade....nothing yet. I have to laugh, Kaspersky....I mean this with no offense. THE most computer illiterate person I know, he ALWAYS is :"I have been attacked", "I have a virus"....I go over, and REMOVE Kapeersky (he won't listen), ...problems solved. Other than being a resource hog, Norton is ok. Again, I've had 1+ (now 25 ish...some are VM) pc/NAS etc running 24/7...ever since the internet was available...how long has that been now?...I've never run antivirus, (other than a week or so, just to "see"), and I've never had a virus.
23 minutes huh? Again..NO offense, just saying my experience with it.

Oh I have to ask........why 23 minutes? why not 10, or 11.3 minutes? That is rather concise. Or why not "likely within a few weeks". Sorry I just can't swallow that one.

Hi

Well I don't believe in resource hog antivirus programs like McAfee, Norton etc. I wouldn't try and run with no antivirus software.

I haven't been infected by a virus myself in many years, I can't remember the last time, and I only run the built in Windows Defender and Malwarebytes Pro.

I haven't seen Defender find anything in years but Malwarebytes does detect something occasionally.

But, I do get calls from friends who have been infected regularly.

I just don't see how anyone could go many years without an infection of some sort, while not running any antivirus software, unless the are just lucky.

A local school system got held for ransom by Russian hackers and had to pay big bucks to get their data released.
Now they have backed up and secured their system.

My sister in law and several other people I know have been hit by the same kind of thing.
I was able to fix their computers without them, paying anything, and they didn't really have much to lose on their systems anyway, but they did get hit, in spite of Windows Defender.

As for IE running slow, I'd at least install the free version of Malwarebytes and CCleaner that see if running them speeds things up. I can't believe that they wouldn't find a lot of junk if they haven't been run before.

And lastly Internet Explorer probably isn't being supported the way that Edge and other browsers are anymore.

Well, I'm here to tell you....i've Never had a virus...not once. I've ONLY run antivirus on an experimental basis, a few times, for under a week each time. I have 3 mail servers, 3 web servers, 4 NAS, 12+ Virtual PC, 3 linux boxes, and 11-12 physical PC....ALL running, connected 24/7. I spend a LOT of time on the internet....say average 60+ hours a week. I do have my router firewall set very well, I did use blackice for 4-5 years till it was no longer available...from 1996 to 2001 "ish". I wouldn't call it luck. I do not go to bit torrant sites much at all, I do not download movies, I do not play any games at all. I for certain do not open or download anything from friends that are "known novice". ...and thats it as for "how I do it".
