- These changes are available now in Insider builds and will finish rolling out to retail in June 2025.
3. Microsoft Store
- You are now able to uninstall the Microsoft Store app in the EEA.
- Apps from the Store will continue receiving updates even if the Store app is uninstalled.
- The Store can be reinstalled later if needed.
- This feature will appear later in 2025.
4. Microsoft Apps
- The Microsoft Bing app (provider for web search in Windows Search) now opens web content with your default browser in the EEA.
- The Start Experiences app (widgets and feeds in Windows 11 Widgets Board and Lock Screen) will open web content with the default browser (rollout starting in June 2025 for Windows 11).
- Microsoft Edge will not prompt you to set it as default unless you open it directly. This starts with Edge version 137.0.3296.52 (released May 29, 2025).
- When Edge is uninstalled, other Microsoft apps will not prompt you to reinstall it in the EEA (except for PWAs in the Store using Edge technology).
