Yesterday I decided to give RC1 a shot, install went perfect.

I had the system completely setup no driver issues until I decided to test the microphone.

When I went into the configuration for the microphone and played the device so I could hear it...All I could hear when there was any sort of activation was what almost sounded like a thunderstorm...just huge booms.

Whenever I would click or use the mouse while this was active I could hear those as well. When speaking into it I could still faintly hear myself but the thunderstorm noise was so much it just took over.

Is anyone else having this issue even without this microphone?
Could it be the USB audio driver?

It seems like you're experiencing some audio issues with your microphone after installing Windows RC1 and hearing strange thunderstorm-like sounds when using it. This could potentially be related to the USB audio driver or some other system configuration. To troubleshoot this issue, there are a few steps you can try: 1. Check Microphone Settings: - Open the Sound settings in Windows and ensure the correct microphone is selected as the input device. - Adjust the microphone volume and sensitivity levels to see if it helps. 2. Update Audio Drivers: - Update your USB audio driver to the latest version. You can do this through Device Manager by right-clicking on the audio device and selecting "Update driver." 3. USB Port...

USB Port Check: - Try plugging the USB microphone into different USB ports on your computer to rule out any issues with a specific port. 4. Disable Audio Enhancements: - In the Sound settings, disable any audio enhancements that may be affecting the microphone input. 5. Test with Different Applications: - Test the microphone with different applications to see if the issue is specific to a particular program. 6. Check for Interference: - Make sure there are no physical interferences near the microphone that could be causing the strange sounds. 7. Update Windows: - Ensure your Windows installation is up to date by checking for any pending updates. If after trying these steps the issue persists, it might be helpful to seek further assistance from the Windows community or the manufacturer of your USB audio device. It could be a specific compatibility issue with Windows RC1 that needs a patch or update to resolve.
