I did not experience this problem when i was using Windows XP. Does anybody have solution? I did not experience this problem when i was using Windows XP.

Solution
It seems like you're facing a sound configuration issue on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit with your Realtek onboard sound card where plugging your guitar into the Line In port mutes all other sounds except Line In. This problem was not present when you were using Windows XP. Let's explore some troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Sound Settings:
    • Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Playback devices."
    • Ensure that the correct playback device is set as the default playback device. Right-click on the correct device and choose "Set as Default Device."
    • Check the volume levels for all playback devices.
    []Configure Sound Options:

    []Configure Sound Options:
    • Open the "Sound" settings from the Control Panel.
    • Navigate to the "Recording" tab and select the Line In device.
    • Check if any exclusive mode settings are enabled that might be causing the issue. Disable them if present.

    ]Update Audio Drivers:
    • Ensure that you have the latest Realtek audio drivers installed for your sound card.
    • Visit the Realtek website or the official motherboard manufacturer's website to download and install the latest drivers compatible with Windows 7.
    []Disable Audio Enhancements:
    • In the "Sound" settings, go to the "Playback" tab, right-click on your default playback device, and select "Properties."
    • Under the "Enhancements" tab, uncheck all enhancements to see if any of them are causing the issue.
    [
    ]Check Sound Card Software:
    • Look for any specific Realtek sound card software installed on your system and check if there are settings that might be affecting the sound output.
    []Compatibility Mode:
    • Try running the sound-related applications or drivers in compatibility mode for Windows XP if applicable.
    [
    ]System Restore:
    • If the issue started after a specific event or software installation, consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point where the sound was working correctly.

      Additional Recommendations:

      • Feedback: Sharing more details such as the specific Realtek sound card model and driver version could help in providing more targeted assistance.
      • Testing: Verify if the issue occurs with different audio devices or if the Line In port works as expected in other scenarios.
Try these steps and let me know if any of them resolve the issue. If the problem persists, we can explore further solutions.
