I have Windows 7 Home Prem. 64 bit. I am having a problem with an update to Outlook and found that Office seems to be in the 32 and 64 bit file folders. I don't understand. The update KB2687623 won't install.

Your OS may be 64-bit, but which version of Outlook did you install (32 or 64-bit). Download both (32 and 64-bit) KB268723 from(Description of the Outlook 2010 update: November 13, 2012) and install them individually to see which one will take.

I purchased an Office 2010 disk and I don't see any indication whether it is 32 or 64.

Launch your office application (i.e. Word), click File | Help - it should tell you if it's 32 or 64. You can also look at the folder on the media (CD/DVD), the folder name should tell you if it's 32 or 64.
