Hi Guys,

On windows 7, my PCI memory controller cannot be detected.

When I try update, I know that it is an intel turbo memory controller - but the driver that I download does not seem to be compatible on windows 7.

is this affecting my performance in any way?

I have been having HUGE issues with my realtek sound drivers that work on and off, for a few weeks they are working fine, then 1 random day I restart and the hardware cannot be found and it appears under system devices and not under sound controllers.

confused....:(:(

Solution
It appears that you are facing two issues with your Windows 7 system:
  1. PCI Memory Controller: The PCI memory controller may not be detected, and when you attempt to update it, you find that it is an Intel Turbo Memory Controller, but the driver downloaded is not compatible with Windows 7.
  2. Realtek Sound Driver: You are experiencing intermittent issues with your Realtek sound drivers. They work fine for a few weeks, but then suddenly, after a restart, the hardware cannot be found, and it appears under system devices instead of under sound controllers. Let's address each of these problems:

They work fine for a few weeks, but then suddenly, after a restart, the hardware cannot be found, and it appears under system devices instead of under sound controllers. Let's address each of these problems:

    1. PCI Memory Controller Issue:

    • The PCI Memory Controller can be a part of the chipset drivers provided by the motherboard manufacturer.
    • If the Intel Turbo Memory Controller driver is not compatible with Windows 7, you might want to try looking for chipset drivers that include the PCI Memory Controller driver specifically for Windows 7.
    • Missing or outdated chipset drivers can sometimes cause performance issues, so it's a good idea to ensure that all necessary chipset drivers are installed correctly.

    2. Realtek Sound Driver Issue:

    • The issue with the Realtek sound driver could be due to driver conflicts, software issues, or even hardware problems.
    • To address sound driver issues:
    • Uninstall the current Realtek sound drivers completely and then reinstall them.
    • Check for the latest Realtek sound drivers compatible with Windows 7 on the Realtek website.
    • Ensure that the drivers are correctly installed and that there are no conflicts with other devices.
    • You can also try updating your system BIOS as it sometimes impacts the functionality of certain hardware components. It's essential to always use drivers that are specifically designed for your operating system version to avoid compatibility issues and ensure optimal performance. If you continue to face issues after trying these steps, further troubleshooting may be necessary. Let me know if you need more detailed instructions or assistance with any of these steps!
