Somebody please help me I am at my wits end trying to find a solution to this.
some programs for example skype, that take info from the web to be placed into the application like skype home are opening (or trying to open) these files in chrome. I realise many of these files are temp files which contain a .htm link, or they could be straight .htm or .html links in the temp folder, as this is what shows in the chrome tab url bar.
THIS IS A PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!!!!!
It means i can see the basic background colour and maybe a few buttons in a window shaped area in the browser tab, but cant interact with them because obviously its not in the application itself, and in the app there is usually just a white box where the stuff should be.
of course, chrome is set as default to open .htm and .html, but surely something else is wrong when the application itself is meant to open the content??
