Windows 7 Question regarding Windows Explorer

In Windows Explorer in WinXP, if you selected some files, then changed the sort order, the files would remain selected. In Win7, the files are deselected when you change the sort order. Is there a way to ensure the files stay selected when changing the sort order? A registry setting or an option I'm missing?

Thanks much.

That is interesting I never noticed that before, are you using the "use checkboxes to select files" option like I am? Wonder if that has any bearing on it.. I dunno.

No, I'm not using the checkboxes, but I did try that out to see if it made a difference (before I posted) and it didn't. Are you seeing the same behavior?

Hi

I have "Windows Classic Start Menu" running on my computer and while is does make Windows Explorer work more like XP, it still deselects the file you have selected when you change the sort order.
