Windows 7 Random No Network Access. Freeze when disabling adapter.

Everyday, at least once a day I have my wired connection drop with the message 'No Network Access'. I try to disable and re-enable the wired adapter only to have the computer freeze. No BSOD, Windows simply freezes, mouse doesn't move, nothing at all.

I have to restart my computer for it to function again.

Windows 7 64 Bit
TA890FXE Motherboard (Realtek onboard LAN adapter)

I can't seem to find the cause of it

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter drivers from the motherboard's manufacturer website, windows update and even the manufacturer website, it still drops the connection after a decent session on the computer.

Any help is appreciated.

Assuming you're using DHCP, for how long is the IP address lease set to on the router?

24 hours....

You think it's the DHCP lease time that's the problem?

The thing is when I disable the adapter the computer freezes...so I don't know..

I have verizon fios and my computer is connected to the supplied router

Might be worth extending the lease time on the router but have to admit that whilst renewal may cause some connection problems I wouldn't expect it to cause a complete freeze. Has the problem always existed or has it just recently started?
