I recently upgraded from Vista to Win7 via a free upgrade from Toshiba. No problems and pleased with Win7. I have recovery disks I created for the original Vista system. Is it possible to create recovery disks for the Win7 operating system now installed, if so, how?

If you mean a recovery disk that will give your recovery options like recovering your system via automated recovery (searches for problems and attempts to fix them automatically), rolling-back to a system restore point, recovering a full PC backup, or accessing a command-line recovery console for advanced recovery purposes then you can download them (64 or 32 bit) from neosmart or burn your own by going to control panel \ backup and restore then pick create a system repair disc from the menu on the left :)

this won't give you a fresh install ;)
