I have been trying to get any screensavers to work on Windows 7 Pro at the login screen. I can get any screensaver to work inside Windows 7, but haven't had any luck getting it to work at the login screen like we did in Windows XP. We tried setting it up the same way as we did with Windows XP, but the settings don't work. I searched it on the web and the instructions I found are the same as what we are using for Windows XP, but they aren't working. I can see the cursor move when the screensaver is trying to start up, but then the cursor goes back to an arrow and the screen stays at the login screen.

Solution
Configuring screensavers to work on the login screen in Windows 7 Pro can be a bit tricky. Windows 7 does not natively support screensavers on the login screen like Windows XP did. However, there is a workaround you can try to achieve this effect using Group Policy settings. Here's a step-by-step guide on how you can potentially enable screensavers at the login screen in Windows 7 Pro: 1. Access Group Policy Editor: - Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and hit Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor. 2. Navigate to the Group Policy Setting: - Go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Control Panel -> Personalization. 3. Enable Screensaver Policy: - Look for the setting Force...

Enable Screensaver Policy: - Look for the setting Force specific screen saver and double-click on it. - Select the radio button for "Enabled" and enter the path to the screensaver file (e.g., C:\Windows\system32\scrnsave.scr). - Click "Apply" and then "OK". 4. Set Timeout Settings: - Still in the same section, set the Screen saver timeout option to the desired time. 5. Wait for Policy Update: - After configuring the policy, it may take some time or a restart for the changes to take effect. 6. Test the Screensaver: - Lock your computer to see if the screensaver activates at the login screen. 7. Troubleshooting: - If the screensaver doesn't work, check for any conflicting policies that might override the screensaver settings. Also, ensure the screensaver file path is correct. Please note that modifying group policies can impact system behavior, so it's important to be cautious and understand the changes you are making. Additionally, this workaround may not work in all cases due to limitations within Windows 7. Give these steps a try and let me know if you encounter any issues or if you need further assistance!
