Hello,
I have SONY VAIO VGN-NS 130E laptop and my webcam does not work. My operating system is Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I have visited many sites but could not find any suitable drivers. When I try to use my webcam I get the message that it is absent or does not work. Any ideas?

  • Look for the webcam driver and download the appropriate one for Windows Vista 32-bit. [*Install Webcam Drivers:
  • After downloading the driver, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
  • Restart your laptop after the installation is complete. [*Check Webcam Privacy Settings:
  • Sometimes, webcam access can be restricted by privacy settings.
  • Go to the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager, and check if your webcam is listed and enabled. [*Scan for Hardware Changes:
  • In Device Manager, right-click on your computer name at the top of the list and select "Scan for hardware changes."
  • This may prompt Windows to detect the webcam if it's not showing. [*Test the Webcam:
  • Once you've updated the drivers, test the webcam in an application that uses the webcam, such as Skype or the Camera app. [*Software Compatibility:
  • Ensure that the software you are using to access the webcam is compatible with Windows Vista.
  • Windows Update:
  • Check for Windows updates as well, as sometimes system updates can include fixes for device drivers. Try these steps and see if they help resolve the issue with your webcam. If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue with the webcam itself. In that case, consider reaching out to SONY support for further assistance or seeking help from a professional technician.
