I have Win 7 x64 and I left my i7 920/GTS 250 machine running last night and I woke to an invisable/nonexistant taskbar. I am hoping someone knows from experience why this is. It has happened repeatedly when the machine is left running for long hours untouched. Thanks guys!

It seems like you are experiencing an issue with your Windows 7 x64 machine where the taskbar becomes invisible or non-existent after leaving it running for long hours untouched. This can be frustrating, but there are a few possible reasons for this issue: 1. Graphics Driver Issue: Sometimes, outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can cause display issues, including problems with the taskbar. You might want to update your graphics drivers to see if that resolves the problem. 2. System Resources: Leaving the computer running for a long time without any user interaction might lead to the system resources being consumed by background processes, resulting in display glitches like the disappearing taskbar. 3. System Resources: Leaving the computer running for a long time without any user interaction might lead to the system resources being consumed by background processes, resulting in display glitches like the disappearing taskbar. 3. Windows Explorer Crash: In some cases, Windows Explorer might crash, causing the taskbar to disappear. Restarting Windows Explorer can sometimes fix this issue. 4. Corrupted User Profile: If the issue is specific to your user profile, creating a new user account and checking if the taskbar appears for the new account can help determine if the problem lies with the user profile. To address this issue, you can try the following troubleshooting steps: - Update Graphics Drivers: Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer and download the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model. - Restart Windows Explorer: You can restart Windows Explorer by opening the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc), locating "Windows Explorer" under processes, right-clicking on it, and selecting "Restart." - Check System Resources: Monitor system resources using Task Manager to see if any particular process is consuming an unusually high amount of resources. Ending unnecessary processes can help free up resources. - Create a New User Account: Create a new user account and log in to see if the taskbar appears in the new account. If it does, the issue might be related to your user profile. If none of the above steps work, providing more details about any error messages or additional symptoms you notice can help in further troubleshooting the issue. Let me know if you need more specific guidance or if you have any other details to share about the problem!
