Windows 7 Taskbar doesn't do anything - need help ASAP

As the title suggests, I cannot use the taskbar. Whenever I click on it, I can the error sound effect thingy, otherwise it doesn't do anything else. Oh yeah, I can only click on the start button on the taskbar, nothing else. Anyone got any solutions???

Try starting and hit the F8 key (may be different depending on manufacturer) to bring up the screen with Safe Mode. Start in Safe Mode, then restart and see if the problem is fixed.

By the way, did you make any changes to the computer lately?

And if this just started happening, you can choose a restore point.

Yes all the above the rollback is always a good move . Would not hurt to do a scan disk as well .

If it was after installing software you started experiancing the problems with your tool bar then most certainly go for a roll back - and good luck

As an afterthought get a registry cleaner it will not hurt .
