I have searched around the web, including Thunderbird's help site, and I can't seem to find an answer to why I can't insert an image into my emails. I follow all the steps, and the image shows up on the email I'm composing, but when I send that email, there's no image inserted into it. I have sent myself test emails to see this for myself after friends telling me that there were no images on emails that I have sent them.
At one time I was able to, but it seems after updating to Thunderbird 9.01, I can't insert images anymore.
I run Win7 SP1.

Any help would really be appreciated!

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with Thunderbird not inserting images into your emails after composing them. This problem could be related to various factors such as settings, updates, or compatibility issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Ensure Inline Images Option is Enabled: - In Thunderbird, go to "Tools" > "Options" (or "Preferences" on macOS). - Navigate to the "Composition" tab. - Check if the "Send options" section has "Send HTML messages" selected. - Make sure the "Attach the original message" option is not selected. - Select the "When sending messages that contain images, send the images inline" option. - Save the changes and try inserting images into your emails...

- Save the changes and try inserting images into your emails again. 2. Check Image Insertion Method: - When inserting images, make sure you are using the proper method within Thunderbird. You should use the "Insert" menu option to insert images inline. 3. Clear the Image Cache: - Sometimes, a corrupted image cache can cause issues with inserting images. Clearing the image cache might help. - Close Thunderbird. - Navigate to the Thunderbird profile folder on your Windows 7 system, usually located in "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\". - Locate and delete the "ImapMail" folder. - Restart Thunderbird and try inserting images again. 4. Update Thunderbird: - Ensure that you are using the latest version of Thunderbird. If not, consider updating to the newest version as it may include bug fixes related to image insertion. 5. Check Thunderbird Add-ons: - Some Thunderbird add-ons could be conflicting with image insertion. Disable any unnecessary add-ons and try inserting images again. 6. Test with Different Email Accounts: - Create a new test email account in Thunderbird and attempt to insert images into emails from that account to see if the issue is specific to one account. 7. Verify Recipient's Email Client: - Ensure that the recipients’ email clients support the display of inline images, as some email clients block external images for security reasons. 8. Compatibility Mode: - If Thunderbird 9.01 is causing compatibility issues, you can try running Thunderbird in compatibility mode for Windows 7. - Right-click on the Thunderbird shortcut and select "Properties." - Go to the "Compatibility" tab and check the option to run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7. - Apply the changes and see if it resolves the issue. By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue with inserting images into your Thunderbird emails on Windows 7. If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Thunderbird support or community forums for further assistance.
