Computer Specs:
Compaq Presario CQ60
AMD Sempron SI-42 2.10 GHz
3.00 GB RAM
Windows 7 32-bit Professional
I installed Windows 7 on 10/23/09 (or close to that date) and I did a clean install. The key I got for it was from my work. It says it is activated. About a week ago when I turned on my laptop I noticed my Desktop Wallpaper wasn't there. I tried looking in the Personalize option and tried changing the wallpaper but nothing happened it just remained solid Black. I looked then in my pictures folder to see if they were removed somehow but they weren't. All that's there is a description of the picture and not a little thumbnail view of the picture itself. If I double click on the picture it opens up in the windows Picture Viewer and I can see it then. Now if I right mouse click on it and click on "Set as desktop background", I get an error stating "This image can't be set as wallpaper. An internal error has occurred." If I go out to the internet and find a picture I like and right mouse click on that picture and go to "Set image as wallpaper", it will show up just fine.
I've tried some of the other things mentioned in some of the previous threads about this but it still hasn't worked for me. The things I haven't tried are repair installing Windows 7 or creating a new user and moving all the files to that user. I was just wondering if there is a way to fix this or are they coming out with an update to fix it or do I have to go through those steps in order for my desktop to be restored to it's original functionality?
Thanks in Advance for any help,
Trevor.
