now i am getting 'USB Mass Storage Device' error where the error is stating that device cannot start. I tried updating the driver to no avail - please help!!!

AMAZING..whoever you are you are one great person.
I am now however worried that after searching for a solution to my problem I had top trawl through hundreds of 'never buy lacie big disk' reviews.
