Windows 7 Unable to rename or delete files with extension mkv

I am able to play files with extension mkv using vlc player. But unable to rename or delete only files with extension mkv. Please help.

You should try "taking ownership" of the files. You can do this via Command prompt, check out the first post here:

This sounds like a permissions problem.
