Windows 8 Unable to Sync Music to iPad/iPhone After Windows 8 Upgrade

I recently upgraded to W8 and have not been able to synchronize my music and other files to my ipad and iphone. these two devices don't even appear in the iTunes panel. I didn't have this problem with W7.

any help will be much appreciated.

The latest version of iTunes is running at 11.01 are you using this version?
