It seems like you are experiencing an issue with freezing during the installation process of Windows Vista build 5744 RC2 on your PC. Given that your hardware meets the required specifications for Vista, there could be several reasons why the installation is freezing after entering the serial number. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Check Installation Media: Ensure that the installation disc or ISO file you are using is not corrupted. Try creating a new installation disc or downloading a fresh copy of the ISO. 2. Reset BIOS Settings: Sometimes, certain BIOS settings can cause installation issues. Reset your BIOS settings to default and try the installation again. 3. Check Hardware Compatibility: Although your hardware meets the minimum requirements, some components may still cause compatibility issues. Try removing non-essential hardware components (such as extra RAM sticks, additional hard drives, or external devices) and install with only the essential components connected. 4. Update Drivers: Make sure that all your drivers are up to date. You can try loading necessary drivers during the installation process by following the on-screen instructions. 5. Install in Safe Mode: If possible, try installing Vista in Safe Mode. This can help bypass any conflicting drivers or software that may be causing the freezing. 6. Perform a Memory Test: Your RAM may be causing the freezing issue. Run a memory test to check for any errors in your RAM modules. 7. Check for Faulty Hardware: Test your hardware components individually to ensure none of them are faulty and causing the freezing issue. 8. Try a Different Installation Method: If you are installing from a disc, try creating a bootable USB drive instead. Sometimes, using a different installation method can resolve issues. By following these steps, you may be able to identify the root cause of the freezing issue during the Windows Vista installation process. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details, and we can assist you further.
