Re: Reply: Which is The Best Antivirus Program For Windows 7 Which Don't Cause BSOD???
I like Titanic's suggestion, which really is the best. Unfortunately, bad code tends to slip in anyway.
ESET Smart Security 5 is among the best paid for security that money can buy. I've already bought it's renewal from Newegg, 3PC's for $19.99 (version 4). No problem, I can update the 1st PC, once installed, I can get the 32 & 64 bit of the latest version (will be version 6 by then, as I'm beta testing it now). Many new features will be included with version 6, like tracking stolen/missing notebooks. ESET NOD32 AV 5 is excellent also, just no firewall.
My current license doesn't expire until February 2013, but 3 PC's at that price, who can refuse? Sign up at Newegg.com for their latest offerings, & never pay full price for premium security again.
For those who cannot afford or don't want to pay for AV protection, then MSE & Avast are both great choices. Both has their strengths & weaknesses, but it's hard for one to go wrong with either. The latest Avast (version 7) has cloud streaming technology that keeps the user protected at the moment a threat is detected between updates, as long as the user is online. This is an important feature & one to consider.
In closing, none of the 4 recommendations that I've made has caused me BSOD's.
