Windows 10 Why Does Win 10 Constantly Need to Close Quicken 16 and True Image?

Win 10 64. All software updates current. Every time I leave my computer for few hours upon returning I get this window. Any idea of what's happening? I usually get the same window for True Image. Sleep and Hibernate are disabled. This just started in the last week or so.
Thanks

Hi Tom,
Quicken has a resolve for this issue found here:
Quicken Launcher has stopped working and needs to close

If it doesn't help then please post back.

I don't think this applies either. The reason I posted in this forum is that I suspect this is a Win 10 issue because the same thing happens with True Image....same exact window. Have done some maintenance stuff and re-started (again). Will see if problem persists.

One of the reasons I posted the link from the Quicken User community is because you could try doing a search for something similar.

Same with the last suggestion, it may not be exactly the issue described by the user but perhaps something similar?

Anyhoo I'm sure other members will comment..

If you haven't already try running a repair on both or remove and re-install. Also look in the application event log for error/debug messages that may narrow down the reason for the crash.

Also look for updates for those products from the vendors to resolve the issues.

When Window popped up I checked and Got an Admin App Error. Does this mean anything to anybody?

Looks like it's a problem with Quicken. Exception code: 0xc0000005 The C indicates it's a customer error, in this case quicken, The 0005 means it's an access denied. You may be able to run procmon and filter for for qw.exe and ntdll.dll and access denied. You may or may not see anything but it's worth looking.

Makes sense. This started just after Intuit sold Quicken and the new owner put out a "critical" update. True Image is not giving me the same error anymore. Maybe that was just a fluke.

"You may be able to run procmon and filter for for qw.exe and ntdll.dll and access denied. You may or may not see anything but it's worth looking."

I am not super technical so I really don't know how to do what you're suggesting. Searched Win10 for procmon and procmon.exe with no results.

I guess I will further pursue this with Quicken also.

You can download procmon here. Process Monitor

You'll want to add two 'Path' filters "contains executable name and ntdll.dll. The other item you want to filter for is Result equals 'Access Denied' which you can't really select in the filter, but what you can do is right click on the result column for any entry that isn't an access denied such as SUCCESS and select exclude if that makes sense.

Neemober,
I Thought I wasn't but I am still having the identical problem with True Image. Anyway, does this look like the filters you described?

This morning when I turned on my monitors, these windows displayed, and had to restart sys to get back to "normal." Does this mean anything to anyone? Thanks

After restarting I checked for event errors and found these two.
