Recently Windows shuts down when idle after the pre set sleep interval expires. When I set my display to blank after 15 min and my PC to sleep after 20 min my PC will shut down rather than go to sleep as it is suppose to. I have extended the sleep interval to an hour to avoid shutdown. I realize I could set it to Never but it should work properly without doing that.

At the end of the day I shut down using the power button, the sleep light blinks and everything works fine. Moving the mouse wakes up the PC and everything is normal.

Computer is a Dell XPS27 all in one.

Update Drivers: - Update your system drivers, especially the display or graphic card drivers, from the manufacturer's website. 5. Check Event Viewer: - Look in the Event Viewer for any errors related to sleep or shutdown that might provide insight into what's causing the unexpected shutdown. 6. Check Power Options Using Command Prompt: - Open Command Prompt as an administrator. - Type powercfg -lastwake to identify the last device that woke up the computer unexpectedly. 7. Check Hardware Factors: - Make sure no external devices are causing issues by unplugging them one by one to see if the problem persists. - Check your BIOS settings for any power-related settings that might be affecting sleep mode. By following these steps and adjusting the settings accordingly, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue where your PC shuts down instead of going to sleep after the set idle time.
