New Copilot+ PC Experiences
Recall Homepage
- A new personalized homepage in Recall makes it easier and faster to find and reconnect with the apps and websites that matter most to you.
- After opting into snapshot collection, the homepage will:
- Display your most recent Recall snapshots for quick resumption of previous tasks.
- Show the top 3 applications and websites you've spent the most time on in the past 24 hours.
- You can filter which apps, websites, and content types are saved in snapshots for privacy.
Navigation Bar in Recall
- There’s now a left-side navigation bar for faster access to Home, Timeline, Feedback, and Settings within Recall.
New Settings and Features (with toggle enabled)
Move On-screen Hardware Indicators
- You can now move hardware indicators (like brightness, volume, airplane mode, and virtual desktops) to different positions: bottom, top left, or top center.
- Find this new option in Settings > System > Notifications > Position of the onscreen pop-up.
Start Menu Changes
- Admins can set Start Menu pins to apply once, after which users can customize their own layout safely. (Via Start Pins policy and CSP.)
File Explorer
- AI actions in File Explorer are being re-rolled out. These may have temporarily disappeared for some Insiders.
Settings
- The country/region selected at device setup now appears at Settings > Time & language > Language & region.
Fixes (Gradually rolling out to Beta Channel with toggle on)
- Input issues in Search, Chinese pinyin IME candidate windows, clipboard history, and emoji panel fixed.
- Fixed explorer.exe crashes for users with Italian display language.
- File Explorer Home bug showing only one folder resolved.
- File Explorer performance improved when many SharePoint sites are synced.
- Windows Update uninstall history now sorts by date.
Fixes for Everyone in the Beta Channel
- Windows Vista boot sound no longer plays incorrectly; reverted to Windows 11 boot sound.
- "Reset this PC" works again.
- Certain KVM virtual machines now boot correctly (no more "UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR" error).
Known Issues
- Temporary build install process for new Beta Channel joiners: requires updating to 26120.4250 first.
- PC reset might show an incorrect build number.
- Some updates may fail to install (error 0x80070005); a fix is in the works.
- New Start Menu issues: unreliable touch navigation, limited drag-and-drop, possible duplicate folder entries.
- Xbox controller Bluetooth bug (fix available: uninstall xbox controller driver from Device Manager).
- Long wait times for Click to Do AI features on initial use on AMD/Intel Copilot+ PCs.
- Accessibility (Narrator) may not work properly in certain File Explorer AI result windows.
- Widget pinning isn’t fully supported in the new widgets board experience.
Reminders
- Feature rollouts in the Beta Channel can be gradual and may require enabling a toggle in Windows Update settings.
- Features in preview may be changed or removed before public release.
- Some features may arrive in Beta Channel before Dev Channel due to parallel development.
