Windows 7 Windows 7 64bit and widescreen games?

Im having a little problem i installed windows 7 64bit (build 7100) to see if a game gaurd game would work. And magically it did...But i have a widescreen monitor and before the game ran in widescreen but with windows 7 its not widescreen. The sides of the screen go black as if my monitor is not a widescreen. Is there anyway to make the game run in widescreen because the games its self is a few years old and the game is called Soldier front.

here's a trick i use for my old games.

create a shortcut for your game, right click the shortcut and click properties.

then go to the "Target: " area, and at the end of the line add this (quotes included) " xres=*ur screen width* yres=*ur screen height*

so on my device it looks like this (Age of mythology.exe" xres=1366 yres=768)

this should override the resolution and display in widescreen
