Have you tried running a speed test?

Also run a Ping test

Was the install an upgrade or a "clean" install.

An upgrade leaves useless files on you system and can cause conflicts.

You will. however need to save all your important Documents, videos, Favorites, music,etc to a flash drive.

Be aware, you will have to re-install all your 3rd partyapplications..

I have never performed an upgrade and there was always a windows.old folder.

It tells you that during install.
