Hi

This may not be helpful but when ever I have used Start Up Repair it has always given me the ''startup repair cannot repair this computer automaticqlly" message. However it has fixed the problem in spite of that.

Did you try and restart the computer normally after getting the message?

I know this seems weird but I have seen a lot of people saying that if you run it 3 times in a row it will fix the problem.

But your best solution may be to run a Repair Installation of Windows.

This should overcome anything short of a hardware issue of some sort.

Here are the step by step instructions with pictures.

Repair Install - Windows 7 Forums

This should leave all your files, software and setting unchanged, and takes about a half...
Have you tried booting into safe mode? If you can get in look in device manager and see if any devices have an exclamation mark against them.
