Windows 7 Windows 7 Ultimate Standard VGA Graphics Adapter Problems

Hi, I have a custom built Toshiba laptop that was formally windows xp professional but now is Windows 7 ultimate. Since I am a gamer, I wanted to figure out why my graphics driver would not update since it seems the VGAGA is low tier/generic. I'm trying to get ANY type of upgrade... I've tried uninstalling but it just re-installs by its self after I restart. I'm thinking its some type of nvidia graphics driver but i downloaded their device manager and they could not detect it. I've tried many methods the forums suggested but yielded no results.

Check in Control Panel, Device Manager under Display Adapter. This should tell you the specific adapter. Then go to the manufacturers site and download drivers for that specific adapter.

Sometimes you have to run the Windows Experience Index to get aero working. Type experience in the start menu search box and select the experience index. Then rerun the assessment. If it already shows a decent number for the video, it may not be necessary.
