Windows 8 Windows 8 Installation Question

Hello. A month ago, my power supply exploded and everything inside my PC cause got destroyed and corrupted. I got my whole PC changed, but when I used my Windows 10 64 bit CD, it didn't work. It kept booting into the screen of installation, then restarting my PC. I tried the 32 bit version, it worked and I currently have 32 bit. The thing is, I want the 64 bit version because it's much faster, and honestly, most software publishers doesn't even care about 32 bit anymore, but I don't know why isn't it letting me install it. So, I asked my friend about it and he said it may be the LAHF/SAHF instruction set not supported by your CPU. I can download Windows 8 64 bit, but will it actually work on my ---> CPU and get installed? Does it support Intel Pentium 4 3.00GHZ? <--- That's the question. If it doesn't support it, will Windows 7 64 bit work?

CPU: Pentium 4 3.00GHZ AND it supports both 32 and 64 bits. I have checked it through an application called SecureAble.
I know the CPU is pretty old, but that's what I could get at least for now then I will change it. I just need help because 32 bit is not working well for me.

Can you access the computer BIOS and tell us exactly what CPU model it it?
Is it this CPU model? This CPU model does NOT support 64 bit instruction set.

What is your motherboard model?

Lenovo is just the name of the company that made your motherboard.
Is your computer a laptop or a Desktop?

You haven't answered my previous question:
Is it this CPU model?
Yes, it is.
Get an app called speccy it'll tell you the system specs.

Yes, it is.

You did a good job to provide all that information.
According to Intel's official website your CPU supports 64-bit instruction set.

In your first message you wrote this:

In fact that might help us get nearer to what causes the problem in the case of Windows 10. So, please download Windows 8.1 64-bit from here, write it on a DVD (at the lowest speed if possible) and run it on your computer. Tell me if it happens exactly the same as in the case of Windows 10 64-bit.

By the way, did you run Windows 10 64-bit from a DVD or USB flash drive?
Maybe the DVD or the USB flash drive was not properly written.

Will do, but it might take a bit longer because everyone in my house uses the internet and I can't always download, but will try.

From a DVD. I wouldn't blame it though as it has worked a lot of times on my previous hardware. Beside that, I'm sure it's not corrupted and never was left opened at the sun. I have it locked in a drawer.

Are you willing to install this software and post the details of your motherboard?
This software is more accurate than the one you used. We need to identify your motherboard model so that we can check on Lenovo's official web site if they provide drivers for Windows 10 64-bit.

Okay, that's what it said about my mobo,
LENOVO 45R7727 ThinkCentre XXXX
Enclosure Type: Mini-Tower
Board: LENOVO LENOVO
Bus Clock: 800 megahertz
BIOS: LENOVO 2OKT48AUS 11/13/2008

As you can read here on Lenovo's official web site there are NO drivers provided by Lenovo for Windows 10 64-bit. They do provide for Windows 8.1 64-bit (see the image attached).
The only reason you were able to install Windows 10 32-bit it's because Microsoft provides some drivers that work with your hardware.
Try to boot Windows 8.1 64-bit and see if it works.

I see, but I don't have a Windows 8.1 64-bit to boot into it.
You gave me a Windows 8.1 64-bit ISO download link above from Microsoft:

Will it ask me for a S/N when I try to install it after writing it on a DVD? Because sometimes it doesn't let me go through without a S/N.

If by "S/N" you mean Product Key, than Yes, you need it in order to install.

But how do I get one?

You can buy it directly from Microsoft or buy it from a third party like Amazon.
However, you should try it before you buy it (especially in your case). I think people should have the right to try before they buy.

Watch this video:

So I got it and when I boot into it, I don't even get into the installation page. It says to press any key and I do, then sends me to another screen that goes away in less than 0.2ms (What I have seen in it is just zeros and ones. I cannot read the texts as that window goes away quick), then my PC reboots.
EDIT: I managed to capture a video using my phone in slow motion and pause it on the error, and it was "0x000000c4".
EDIT2: I got Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium on a CD-DVD and it successfully installed. I guess my hardware components only supports Windows 7 at all its versions.
However, I still want to install Windows 8 and know what is the cause of the problem.

Has this happened when you tried to boot Windows 8?

This error happens even with Windows 7, take a look at this:

What you can try is to make a custom Windows 8 ISO with the drivers for your PC integrated into it. The MSMG Toolkit is used for this:

This has happened while I was booting into the Windows 8.1 installation CD. It didn't show anything, but this error, then reboots my PC.

I don't understand this whole part.

Was the installation CD/DVD correctly written? Can you try it on a different computer?

Do you not understand how to use MSMG toolkit?

Unfortunately, there are no drivers available for Windows 8/8.1 on Lenovo's official web site. Take a look here:
https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/ro/en/...eries-desktops/thinkcentre-a55/8705/downloads

I was misled by their web site to believe that actually they provide drivers for Windows 8.1. But if you click on the link above, then click on Operating system, choose Windows 8.1 and select Components there will be no drivers available.

I guess that since they do not offer drivers for Windows 8, then I cannot install it. I will stick with Windows 7; it is literally doing very good and the performance is great, at least for my PC. If there is no way to install Windows 8, then I guess this thread should be closed since Windows 8 cannot me installed. Thanks everyone who have tried to help me and especially you livix! đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ť
