I am constantly plagued with a notification that reports (the red X in the notification sidebar appears) that my Emsisoft Anti-Malware (EAM) program is not running--but it is. I have constantly posted information pertaining to this problem in Emsisoft Support forum. The administrators there say that it is a Microsoft problem.

When I go to the Action Center (AC) it does dsplay the red information that EAM is not on; but it is when I open EAM gui. When I disable the EAM file guard on EAM's gui, the red X goes away. I then re-enable the guard and the X stays away. The thing that has me stumped is that EAM is actually running. Does Microsoft have a patch or anything that I can install or does anyone in this forum have any information?

Oh...the red X appears on system boot and reboot. I also am using Online Armor for my firewall. It is the Emsisoft Internet Security Pack.

Thanks You!

Solution
It seems like you are experiencing an issue where Emsisoft Anti-Malware (EAM) is displaying a notification that it's not running, even though it actually is running. This issue occurs specifically in the Action Center (AC) where it reports that EAM is not on. Here are some steps and considerations you can take to address this problem: 1. Antivirus Status in Action Center: - The Action Center in Windows may sometimes not accurately depict the status of third-party antivirus software. - This could be a compatibility issue between EAM and how Windows interprets its status. 2. Possible Solutions: - Check EAM Settings: Ensure that EAM's settings do not conflict with Windows Security Center notifications. - Update EAM...

- Update EAM: Make sure that you have the latest version of EAM installed. Updates can sometimes fix compatibility issues. - Repair EAM Installation: Consider repairing the EAM installation to ensure all components are working correctly. - Check EAM Support as they might have specific insights or updates regarding this issue. 3. Firewall Consideration: - Since you are using both Emsisoft Internet Security Pack (which includes EAM) and Online Armor firewall, there might be interactions between these components that affect the status reported to Windows. 4. Windows Updates: - Windows updates can sometimes include compatibility fixes for third-party software. - Check for Windows updates to see if any patches or updates are available that could address this issue. 5. Community Forums: - Continue checking the Emsisoft Support forum for any updates or solutions provided by other users who might have experienced a similar issue. 6. Contact Microsoft Support: - If the issue persists and is indeed related to Windows misreporting the status of EAM, reaching out to Microsoft support could provide further insights or solutions. 7. Further Troubleshooting: - You can also try temporarily disabling Online Armor firewall to see if there are any conflicts between the firewall and EAM that might be causing this issue. By taking these steps and keeping an eye on both Emsisoft Support forum and Microsoft updates, you might find a resolution to the notification problem you are facing with Emsisoft Anti-Malware and the Action Center.
