When watching a movie in Windows Media Player, every five seconds or so my FPS will drop significantly, both audio and video, for about a second. It steadily happens about every 5-6 seconds.
Please help me out here, it's honestly making it really difficult to enjoy my movies.

Hi Cory,

Every 5 sec or so would be the memory chase;

1. Watching media over the internet… download it first then watch it.

2. Watching media over a network (like wifi) or a slow speed usb port… Transfer it first to the main drive i.e. on the laptop itself and then watch it.

3. It is already downloaded to the main drive but still running slow:

Have you got enough ram on the system? Try lightening the load by turning of torrents/ stop your antivirus "helpfully" scanning it… still jumping like skippy on speed, try using a different player and see if its just Microsoft being "helpful" in the background?

p.s my goto player is http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml
