When the charger is plugged in the battery charge display is stuck at 8% for several minutes. Other times when the battery is fully charged and the charger is unplugged the battery display remains stuck at 100% for several minutes. The laptop also shuts down due to a low battery. Before it shuts down the battery display may show a charge above 20%. After I plug in the charger and turn the laptop on the battery display shows a 4% charge.
I have tried calibrating the battery, reinstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery driver and updating windows. Nothing has worked.
I have a lenovo X131e that is about 6 years old. The battery is new however. Below are some details about the battery:

-current battery capacity: 7%

-battery remaining time: 12 minutes

-battery status: full charge

-Designed capacity: 48840 mWh

-Total capacity: 42546 mWh

-current capacity: 2986 mWh

-charge/discharge rate: 0 W

-Tension (voltage): 10482 mV

-wear level: 12.89%

-total discharge cycles: 1

3. Battery Health App:

Use third-party battery health check applications to get more insights into the battery's condition and health.

4. Battery Calibration Techniques:

Follow these steps to recalibrate the battery:
  • Drain the battery to 0% until the system shuts down. Leave it off for a few hours.
  • Recharge the battery to 100% without turning on the laptop during the charging process.

5. Check AC Adapter:

Verify if the AC adapter is providing the correct voltage and current to charge the battery effectively.

6. Battery Replacement:

If the issue persists and the battery health continues to degrade rapidly, consider replacing the battery with a new one to improve overall performance and prevent shutdowns during usage.

7. Manufacturer Support:

Reach out to Lenovo's customer support for further assistance, especially if the laptop is still under warranty. They might provide specific diagnostics or recommend tailored solutions based on the system's configuration.
