Updates to Malicious Software Removal Tool fail to install. I gather that it could take days to fix this, so what does this software do exactly? Can I do without it?

Solution
If you otherwise have a full Anti-Virus program installed the "Malicious Software Removal Tool" is pretty superfluous in my opinion...

More explanation and the manual download can be found Link Removed.
Maybe the manual download can resolve your problem ?

Only have one Anti-Virus running. Agree more than fully with OTT.
