My HP Media Center laptop has dedicated/custom buttons and remote control for DVD player. Win 7 does not activate buttons and it will not auto-restart/shutdown when installing programs, updates. I have to wait for it to finish and manually power down system, then restart. Very annoying. HP has not provided any new software for Win 7 so I guess until it's official, HP features won't work.

You're right about drivers from HP.

Is your player a Cyberlink product?
