📎 AI Summary:
The original poster describes a problem where pre-installed Windows apps, such as Weather and Settings, are unresponsive with an "X" on their tiles after a recent update, though the Windows Store eventually started working. A forum member suggests a troubleshooting method involving a PowerShell command, which helped fix the Store but not the other apps. The original poster later reports that while the Store functions correctly, other built-in apps remain non-functional.

I noticed this problem a couple weeks ago when I installed the recent update for windows. All pre installed apps on my start screen had an "X" in the corner of the tile. None of them would open. The only thing that would happen would be I was directed to the desktop and the app would be running in the task bar. By running the app trouble shooter I was able to get the app store working but everything else continues not to work. Settings, maps, weather, mail, etc.

Sorry for the long response time. Its been a while since I've used this desktop.
The windows store now runs fine. None of the pre-installed windows apps work. Weather, Settings, News, etc.
