i have a playlist that WMP isn't recognizing in the Playlists window.

if i locate it manually and click on it, it'll start playing it fine, but since it doesn't appear in the Playlists view, i can't edit it.

any ideas (other than deleting and recreating the library)?

  • Reopen Windows Media Player, and it will rebuild the database.
  • Checking File Extensions:
  • Ensure your playlist file has the correct extension (.wpl, .m3u, .pls) based on the playlist format.
  • Try opening the playlist file directly in Windows Media Player to see if it loads correctly.
  • Adding the Playlist to Library:
  • Open Windows Media Player.
  • Go to the "Library" > "Add to Library" and then choose the folder containing your playlist.
  • This action might refresh the playlists and include the missing one.
  • Monitoring Watch Folders:
  • Check if the folder containing the playlist is part of the monitored library folders in Windows Media Player's settings. Add the folder if it's not already included.
