Have windows 7 pro desktop and windows 7 pro wireless laptop.

trying to access the desktop ip 192.168.1.142 from the laptop....it use to work...both are on same router/switch...

PINGS work in both directions and with both IP address and name.

Connection is denied both ways...

Router was switched out in April and may not have used remote since then.

Have checked remote desktop configuration, seems ok to me.

Any ideas, thank you.

Yes make sure your network type is set to Private or Domain (depending on your situation), and double check that the Windows Firewall is allowing incoming connections for Remote Desktop.
