I currently don't have TPM chip on my server, but I'm planing to install it - I can only get v1.2 but it's good I guess.
I want to install bitlocker now on my server and only encrypt my external and internal drives, not the system drive due to the lack of TPM as I need to boot it without any hickups with rdp and as I don't have any TPM chip I can't boot it with rdp if I encrypt the OS disk.
So my question is, can I install bitlocker and encrypt the external drives and then after (3 weeks from now) I can add the TPM chip to my server and then encrypt my OS disk? Is that possible?
Or should I wait with installing bitlocker until I get the TPM chip?
