Windows 8 How to fix windows pitter patter sound

I've updated all drivers but nothings changed its still an annoying pitter patter sound in place of regular audio.

I would download an Ubuntu ISO and burn it to a disc or usb and boot into the live environment. If you still hear the sound then I would say it's a hardware problem.
