Hi
I have installed a brand new Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3L motherboard for my dad and it has been working for the last few weeks until today, he tells me that a Bad CheckSum error appeared on the BIOS when he rebooted his computer. I have completely powered down the computer and powered it back up...

I'm having a problem with my screen brightness setting. I'm currently using a (very old) dell latitude e6400 with Windows 7 while my normal laptop is being repaired. The battery is shot, so it only runs for about 30 seconds without being plugged in. A few days ago, the screen went extremely dim...
Hello,
When i tick an option, e.g 'power saver' in the battery meter, it is not retained after a restart and he two radio button return to unticked.
I could not get help from Asus: They want to reset the machine to factory(!) though I know it was so since the first day
Any Idea?
Many thanks...
After only 35 yrs in the general purpose OS business, MS cannot devise a reliable "wake from sleep" scheduler. The task scheduler can shut down, or sleep, but not awake with any hope of reliability. The BIOS can set a base "power management" start-up, but it is insensitive to refinements in...

I don't use a laptop, but if I did, I would like the idea of solar power. To make it practical, it would only be used to recharge the battery, but that would give it almost infinite power supply. It doesn't seem like too much of a stretch of the imagination for this type of solar power...
It appears that this UPS is failing, because it has started rapidly switching back and forth, between the status of being on AC and on battery. I've checked the power connection, and the AC itself is normal, so I need to RMA it. However, for some reason, the copy of the sales receipt I had...
Playing a game and quite often the screen blacks out. When I alt-tab it goes to windows logon, making me log in to my account again.
After about 4 or 5 of these occurrences the laptop just shuts itself down. No bluescreen and the charger's in with 100% of battery. I have enabled minidump...

I am working on a HP Pavilion TX 1120us for a friend.
He gave it to me and said that it has been acting up for a while and now won't start at all. It turns on and the fans start but there is no attempt at booting. Could this be the CMOS battery or something more dire?
Is the Nexus 7 so internally complex that you can't change the battery? Perhaps not. Check out this video, as we rip a broken one right open. For the record, although our sites emphasize Windows products, Android products are great as well. Too bad this one took a turn for the worse. We had to...
Hi,
I have a DELL STUDIO 1450 Laptop with a Core 2 Duo P8700. Recent games are very much lagging on my system. I was wondering about upgrading my processor. I found a QX9300 on an online shopping site. But after goggling I'm confused whether I can upgrade my processor or not. I couldn't find an...
As long as the power cable is plugged in in my notebook the brightness of my display is fine.
But when I plug it out and use the battery the brightness becomes suddenly darker.
Why?
How can I prevent this switch-to-dark-screen?
I found no corresponding option in the power plans

 I am sorry if this was posted somewhere, but I am not in the mood, because of this problem on my laptop. This is like a crash and a bit of a bug,and it annoys me.The laptop I have is Satellite L755 and owned it for 10 months which is near a year.As of right now, my laptop's battery...
Can I run it turbo mode all the time, if I am not using the battery? Or can I increase the low gig. mode from 1197 gig. to say 1500 gig. ? I so seldom use the battery, so I can imagine that being a problem. Also, I read something about leaving the battery out, if I use it outside on a warm...
Hi sorry about his probably familiar type of first post from a non expert who badly needs some help.I have just been given a Fujitsu Lifebook S6540 running windows 7 and on the whole it is fine but it is eating the battery when switched off. Research on the internet has shown that the computer...
