I successfully upgraded from XP and the only issue that I have is that each time i start the computer, it asks which operating system I want to use. My hard disk is partitioned for backup. Any ideas on how to automatically load windows 7?

This tutorial describes how to install Windows XP and Windows 7 on the same partition (first tutorial for one partition written).
The short concept: Install XP twice and have 7 replace the first installation.

I am trying to do a clean instal of Windows 7.
What I want to do is clear ie format the hard drive and then instal the OS.

After running the Windows Upgrade Advisor twice without issue I attempted to install the Win7 Ultimate Edition twice earlier this morning. Both times the install process was halted mid-stream and I get two pop up windows. The first says, "The installation was cancelled" and the second says...
Hi good buddies,
used to be I had my PC set up thus: I began by installing Windows 7 RC1 on a freshly formatted HD, then proceeded to create a D-partition within C:\ where I installed Windows XP and ended up with a boot screen which gave me the choice to boot into Windows 7 (default, 30 sec...
Last night I logged of my Windows 7 RC 64-bit laptop. This morning I log on and the logon takes longer than usual. Finally a non-aero desktop appears and a message is displayed that the desktop could not be loaded or that the profile is damaged. I logged off and on again, rebooted, but could not...

Previously, I was using two operating systems - C: Windows XP x64 SP2; D: Windows XP x86 SP3.
I was given ten seconds to choose the operating system, or it automacally shoosed the first one.
Now, I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate RC on C, and...
Hi,
I have Vista 64 on C: and Windows 7 RTM on F: running simultaneously. I've got Win7 to the point where I can abandon Vista entirely. I was wondering if I could image the Win7 F: drive -- I use Acronis TrueImage -- and replace it onto C: eliminating the Vista instance for the Win7, then...

I just installed a Linux distro based on Ubuntu 9.04.
It is very user friendly. I don't like the Start Menu, but that's easily changed by choosing the Gnome Desktop.
I used a program called [URL=http://unetbootin.sourceforge.netUnbooten[/URL] to install on my flash drive.
You need to check...

Doing this selects which operating system you want to load, or if you want to use the memory diagnostic tool.

Hi all!
I recently decided to try out Windows 7. I was previously using Vista 64bit so I though I could try to dual boot them. I have partitioned my main HD into 2, one for the current vista and another which I have named Windows7.
Everything went fine when I was installing Windows 7. Note...
