Hi
Today Windows Defender came up with Malware for the first time ever!
It found "Trojan:Win32/peals.flcl" When I looked at the location it said it was in a file called Desktop Lara that's been on my computer for years.
If offered to remove it so I did.
I then ran Malwarebytes and...
Hello everyone. So couple of days ago I was given college project that needs to be done in Linux OS. I googled it a bit and decided to do dual boot on my Windows 10. I found some youtube tutorial and did everything (?) correctly. However, after restarting my PC, no Windows option is shown. Only...
I am trying to view the backups of my Lumia 640 on OneDrive.
When I login to the site it says 7.52GB out of 5GB used (???) but shows an empty folder.
Are the backups hidden? Is there a way to reveal them?
I did my best job of using Macrium backup to make sure I would always have my files available. Unfortunately, this desktop of 6 years WILL NOT turn on. Power light is amber. Now all my files are backed up on my external drive which I cannot access. If I am unable to fix this problem, can I...

A surface test of my hard disk with some partition tools showed one or more bad sectors.
How can I find out exactly which of my files allocated space these bad sectors in the past?
....and which are now corrupted?
I have heard that a "chkdsk" run could repair/exclude these bad sectors...
Hello:
I am trying to sell a computer to someone else, and want to more or less sanitize my personal info from the computer. I secure-deleted the files with sensitive info, uninstalled my financial software, and then ran a program like Eraser that claimed to effectively wipe all free space. I...

I have been working on 3 wordpad files and I just leave the files open and save whenever I add new data to them. This morning I got on my laptop and clicked wordpad and all 3 files are completely blank and they are now just titled "Document" instead of the save name they had. I went to find the...

Recently made a major housing move - in the process of crazy packing, boxing up, redoing living area, I lost my drive on my desktop to who knows what. Old age maybe. 5 year old desktop. Anyway, I have since replaced the drive and many of the older files that I had backed up on an external drive...
After having disabled the option "protect my system folders) I had a look on my folders and found 4 (!) different RECYCLE BINs on my second, non-system partition D:
Have a look at the attached snapshot of my WinExplorer view and the corresponding listing with "dir /a".
Why are there so many...

Hi
This isn't really a request for help, more curiosity.
This morning I deleted a folder that I though was out of date and I emptied the recycle bin.
Only after that did I realize that there was another folder in it that I did need.
I've never used Recuva but I downloaded it and tried to see...

I want to make a iso file of my current win 10 build but in my surprise, suddenly i can not find that "install.esd" file. It used to be in a hidden folder named "$WINDOWS.~BT". But neither i can find the Folder nor the esd file.
