Hello, I just built my pc and have an issue. If I play music for example and not touch the computer at all, after 10min, the sound distorts and stutters until I either move the mouse or touch the keyboard. Then it will be fine again for another 10 min. I could be using Spotify, Winamp, VLC...
Hi there, the CPU is constantly displaying 100% in windows task manager > users tab. However when I try other 3rd party programs the CPU is displaying correctly at idle 1%. Is this a bug? Or is there any way to fix it? I am sure the CPU is at 1% when left idle.

After leaving the computer idle for some time, like overnight, I find the computer apparently awake (sleep light not on), with the hard drive light irregularly but dimly flashing, and no way to access it. Neither mouse clicks nor any key on the keyboard does anything, nor is there any apparent...
I've done a fairly cursory search through the forum, and haven't seen my specific issue mentioned, so here goes.
I have Win7 and the screensaver is acting weird.
Before anyone asks, I've checked all the settings regarding the amount of time before the screensaver comes on, before the computer...
Hi, I am using nvidia multi display power saver with SLI. With two monitors both cards are running at 51mhz and temps are good. Is this safe to force downclock all the time until I need the extra power/3D?
If a game or video is running, the computer will not go to sleep, which I want it to after the specified idling.
Is there any alternative to "powercfg" to manage sleepblockers? IE a graphical userinterface?
I cannot make "powercfg -REQUESTSOVERRIDE XXX" work, IE when a user has an audiostream...

I changed ownership of all files on C:\ (and permissions also -removed SYSTEM, Users & authenticated users from all files-shame on me) and after that, I was unable to get even into win logon screen. Fortunately, I have 2 Win 7 x64 versions installed, so I...

I have a new system with an SSD. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. Now my question is this. I know that 7 is supposed to handle Trim on the SSD when the system is idle. First of all will a screen saver be ok? Also how do I know Trim is in fact working?
Hey everyone,
I previously had 4GB of Ram installed on my laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. When my system was idle, ram usage would be sitting at 70% so I decided to upgrade it to 8GB of ram. Now my ram usage sits at 60% - 65% when idle with 8GB of ram. I don't understand how this is even...
I'm using an ASUS X5DC laptop with a 250gb hard drive and 4gb RAM. My CPU usage is constantly staying at 100% unless the system is idle which even at that it only goes down to 86%. Could anyone help me try and fix this?

I have Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit with 6 GB of Ram and SSD.
After restarting the comp, the memory use is around 23% (of 6 GB).
After working on it for a while, running browsers, spreadsheets, playing a game the memory use just pretty high (with just a few browsers open and Football...

On starting my computer this morning I have noticed the CPU cooling fans running a little harder than I'm used to hearing when just using Firefox.
On looking at the task manager I have noticed that rather than sitting at the normal 0% CPU usage when idle a process labelled NTVDM.exe is...
