It seems like I just keep getting more and more viruses even though I have MSE.

Hi there!
From what I've been seeing and been doing my research for the past two days, many people have been having the same issues throughout the years, however, this is the first time I've encountered this issue and many of the specific workarounds or fixes have not worked for me. I've been...

A silly question, i was wondering if there was a way i could improve the automatic updating of Microsoft Security Essentials, I have noted that updates occur often many times per day, which is of course very good, as the best payware (eset) has frequent updates to it's credit. The automatic...
I recently read an article raising questioning about how secure MSE will be once Windows 8 releases. It seems like that will make MSE a big target for hackers. Will MS be able to keep a head of them? Are there any sites comparing AV programs that a regular user can use to compare? Something...
Hey folks, I'm a system builder but not too well versed in networking yet.
Story: New apartment, new ISP, new router, new adapter
Hardware: Buffalo 300NH-V2, Asus PCIe N-15, Linksys USB54g
OS: Win7 64-bit (Hasn't been formatted in 6yrs, IIRC)
Symptoms: Stuck on "Identifying" with new NIC. Works...

Here is my issue....
I recently downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials and now I think I have some sort of virus. Within minutes of logging onto my computer, a message keeps popping up that there is a critical error and...
I have 4 PCs running Windows. I make image files of the system partition of each one and store the image files on a USB hard drive. I would like to create a flash drive that can be used on any of the PCs and which boots to a menu. From the menu I would like to select the appropriate image...

Hello everyone,
Today, my computer just finished installing updates, and was waiting for me at the user selection/log in screen when I checked on it. I powered it off by holding the power button down to change some BIOS settings. (In the end, I did not save any changes to the BIOS, so I can...
Hi
The title is supposed to say Run in Windows 7?
It won't let you edit the title, I don't know where Word came from?
I've been using windows 8 for a long time, but today I booted back into Windows 7.
After a lot of updates, video drivers, security etc, I opened my normal browser Google...

Hello
I think there is a statistical diffeence between MSE with Win 7 native firewall as opposed to Norton Security Suite offered free by my isp.
I know subjectivty plays a large role in the choice but as an unskilled user I can only rely on substantial information -that is why I am here...
Today, while visiting my mother-in-law, after I did her routine maintenance for her (MBAM alone found 271 bad items, including 33 trojans), I got a surprise. She gave me a Dell Dimension 2400 (the one I used to keep up for her), & it's in great shape. It has XP Home, but I plan to install a dual...

Hi all. I was recently having some bad video driver issues (getting frequent BSODs after updating to the latest drivers for my 560 Ti), so I did a system restore. After the restore, I'm not having any problems with that, but a new one has popped up: opening any photo or video file in Windows...

While it may be a short term solution, there's a beta security program named ESET Endpoint Security (Beta) that runs well on Windows 8 CP. It's good through 04/30/2012.
ESET has always delivered great security products, and is working hard to deliver more. For those who doesn't trust Windows...

I have partitioned my hard disk into two logicals. I use one for executables and the other for data. Backing up Data (D) to an external USB hard drive is a non issue, but backing-up the system partition is not so simple.
I thought I would automatically make an image file of the Sys (C)...
 - My notebook suddenly became unresponsive. I looked in Task Manager and found 99% of the CPU cycles were being consumed by MSE.
Should I say Goodbye to MSE? What would the replacement be?
What If ? - I configured its real time features? How significant might that be?
I have had Win 7 64bit installed on my C: Partition which contains System Files and Program Files. Data is stored on Partition E:. The System has functioned perfectly untill straight after installing updates on 16/02/2012.I believe some of these updates were: KB2660465, KB2645640, KB2654428 and...

Quite a few people here use MSE and recommend it a lot. I understand MSE is going to be part of Windows 8. I know we won't really know until Windows 8 comes out but I've got a couple questions. If a person wants to install a third party AV is the MSE going to cause a problem. We all know you are...
I have windows 7 family version. My laptop is an ASUS K52F. I use MSE. For some reason, my firewall protection has been switched off. I don't know how long it's been off. Recently, I've started getting intrusive chinese pop ups when I open my firefox browser. I get emails from paypal saying...
